Very interesting obituary on someone who sounds very neat...one of the original organizers for the Star Trek conventions.
Hope she finds an afterlife in outer space.

As a tiny little Trekker, Joan's book Star Trek Lives! was one of my first introductions to organized fandom. i read this book until it fell apart. A wonderful introduction to a larger world by a very vibrant and energetic woman.
Bully,
It's hard to imagine you even littler. You must have been the size of Tom Thumb.
I haven't had a chance to read any of Joan Winston's works. One of these days, I will have to so that I can relive the original Star Trek series (so cool).
By the way, I was very jealous of your Batman outfit at Comic-Con. I think you have a better wardrobe than me.
cheers,
Postillion
